Beijing, July 15, 2024 – The 26th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) commenced today, marking a significant milestone with the introduction of the China-Southeast Asia Internationalisation Exchange (CSAIE). This year’s event, co-organised with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), aims to foster collaboration and innovation between China and Southeast Asian nations.

Since its inception 25 years ago, CHITEC has attracted over 40,000 domestic and foreign organisations and nearly 6 million visitors from over 100 countries. This year, the expo features six thematic exhibition areas, focusing on information technology, intelligent manufacturing, healthcare, green energy, digital economy, and regional innovation and development.

The CSAIE, an extension of MP Group’s Tech-Leap programme, aims to connect technology ecosystems across borders, facilitating collaboration and exploration of new technology and innovation opportunities. The event includes in-depth sharing sessions by government and industry leaders from five Southeast Asian countries, enhancing the connection between Chinese and Southeast Asian tech ecosystems.

A key feature of the expo is the Internationalisation Roundtables, scheduled for Monday morning, July 15th. These roundtables provide a platform for face-to-face discussions with government and industry leaders about opportunities in Southeast Asian countries. There will also be two highlights in the exhibition area featuring the Southeast Asia and Global Tech Zone, where detailed information on opportunities in Southeast Asia will be available. The zone will also feature 17 international tech companies exhibiting their innovations.
